Michael Page are recruiting for a leading organisation in the Arts sector to recruit a Financial Controller, reporting into the Finance Director.

Client Details

Our client are well known in the Art sector and are one of the UKs largest specialist schools, with some really interesting heritage sites also within the organisation.

They strive to provide opportunities for people from all backgrounds due to a large proportion of their funding coming from government grants and donor funding.

Description

The organisation are looking for a special person who can come and join the team who can be strategic, innovative and a team player with strengths in financial controls and communicating with non-finance colleagues.

Deputising for the FD and managing a small team, you will be responsible for;

  • Producing and presenting accurate reports and financial summaries as requested
  • Assisting with year end and audit cycle
  • Overseeing the purchase cycle and advising on supplier queries, when necessary.
  • Managing the proper collection, reconciliation and banking of monies, including debt collection processes for all fee and non-fee income
  • Processing and posting of journals
  • Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Preparation and submission of VAT Returns on a quarterly basis
  • Input extra charges onto student accounts as they are incurred
  • Invoicing with regard to all non-fee income sources
  • Monitoring expenditure budgets on a monthly basis, and reporting to budget holders as appropriate, offering advice to them to ensure that best value is achieved
  • Managing the filing, storage and security of financial and accounting documents

Profile

Prior experience in the charity or education sector would be beneficial, but not essential.

You will be an experienced management accountant, who is fully qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).

You will also be a competent self starter able to take initiative and communicate effectively with non-finance colleagues.

To fit in with the team you will demonstrate a friendly nature with personal integrity, a flexible yet reliable attitude to work.

Job Offer

Salary £50-60k + statutory pension, 25 days holidays + bank holidays.
