Robert Half is partnering with a fast-growing global business based in Manchester in its search for its European Financial Controller. You will be responsible for managing a team with a focus on financial reporting for several entities across the business.

This role would be suited to a qualified financial controller with a background working within product/stock based companies with a strong focus on managing a large team. Along with working for a market leading company, the role comes with the opportunity to progress to group financial controller within 12-18 months.

Day to day;

Responsibilities:

  • Monthly financial reporting including group consolidation of p&l, balance sheet, cash flow and working capital items.
  • Co-ordination and direct responsibility of the annual budgeting process within set timeframes. Responsibility for reporting on financial KPIs within the business.
  • Manage, develop and grow a dynamic, fast paced team including financial reporting, financial accounts & transactional, in line with the growth and development of the business.
  • Ownership and development of finance systems, proactive in identifying and implementing process & efficiency improvements within the finance department.
  • Manage the year end audit for the European entities, including statutory reporting packs, liaise directly with external audit team.
  • Work with senior finance team & Group on complex and judgemental accounting, ensure accounting policies are aligned and risks effectively managed, and that any local authority reporting requirements are understood and met.
  • Recommend changes within the wider business to ensure we are always moving forward and mitigating any risks
  • Ownership and proactive development of 'best in class' control environment, including responsibility for the intercompany process and regular review of balance sheet reconciliations; liaise with Group Internal Audit function, responsibility for overseeing payroll including working directly with overseas local advisors
  • Manage cashflow and working capital requirements, including 13 week cash flow and forecasts, currency needs & exposure. Provide ad-hoc support on tax related matters.

Opportunity for progression.

To be considered for the role, you must have the following;

  • Qualified financial controller or finance manager with a minimum of 3 years PQE (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) will be considered
  • You must have a proven track record of managing a team
  • Stakeholder management
  • Experience of reporting on several European entities
  • Audit experience, managing year end and preparing statutory reporting packs
  • Must be able to work under pressure, demonstrate resilience and be a confident communicator

Salary paying up to £90k + bonus, hybrid working available.

Location is central with easy access to public transport/parking facilities
