The Company Axon Moore are working with an industry leading global business to appoint an Fixed Asset Accountant in their Finance team. Based in their UK office in Manchester city centre, you will work remotely with your counterparts in the US and Germany via Teams, reporting to the Senior Manager, and you will be in the office with the wider UK finance team. The business has a huge presence around the world and you will be working on the fixed assets business wide, so it’s a huge and exciting opportunity! You will be responsible for maintaining the fixed asset register, including depreciation and transfers from registering as a new asset through to retirement of existing assets. You will need to be familiar with GAAP and statutory reporting requirements to ensure full compliance. You will work closely with the team to ensure you cover each other where needed.Salary and Benefits:£38-45k per annum DOE. Your Role:
  • Supporting the wider Fixed Asset team which operates globally, via Teams and reporting to the Senior Manager in the USA.
  • Ensure all fixed asset transactions are processed including additions, transfers and retirements.
  • Managing the fixed asset reporting with adherence to GAAP and statutory requirements.
  • Projects – work with project managers to ensure assets are considered, costs are in tracked and inline and queries are resolved. Ensure proper documentation and closure of projects with assets capitalised.
  • Complete journal entries and fixed asset entries.
  • Support the business with fixed asset requests and ensure this is done in a timely manner.
  • Support the wider finance team by completing month end processes for projects and fixed assets, including depreciation and closing the period.
  • Reconciliation of the fixed asset register.
  • Assist with any external audit requests.
  • Work with the team to ensure best practice and encouraging improvements within the fixed asset process.
  • Work on ad hoc projects as required,
What We Need From You:
  • ­Experience with Fixed Assets within a global organisation.
  • Graduate within Accounting or similar field, or AAT qualified, with experience.
  • Experience with GAAP is essential, US GAAP knowledge would be beneficial.
  • Strong MS Excel skills and use of Oracle would be beneficial.
  • Meticulous with strong attention to detail.
  • Proactive self-starter, able to work well on your own and in a team.
  • Confident and approachable, good communicator in person and using Teams.
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and hit deadlines.
