Our client, a leading and recognisable business in their sector, is seeking an experienced Group Accountant to join their Manchester based teams on a permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity for a finance professional to join a rapidly growing organisation that has doubled in size since 2021 and continues to maintain ambitious growth. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing the finance team and driving process improvements within this high-growth business.

What you'll do:

As a Group Accountant, your role will be pivotal in supporting the financial operations of some of our client's diverse divisions. You will be instrumental in preparing both single entity and consolidated statutory accounts under FRS 101. Your expertise will be crucial in standardising accounting policies across the group, implementing new processes, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. You'll also assist with audits, liaise with tax advisors, provide technical accounting advice, and prepare essential company secretarial documentation.

  • Assist with preparation of Group single entity and consolidated statutory accounts under FRS 101.
  • Standardise accounting policies across the Group, ensuring consistency.
  • Implement new processes and policies in line with accounting standards.
  • Assist with quarterly reviews and yearly audits and liaison with auditors.
  • Liaise with tax advisors to ensure the Group's tax position is compliant.
  • Provide technical accounting advice following changes in accounting standards or business circumstances.
  • Produce high-level management information for executive and board meetings.
  • Prepare company secretarial documentation to ensure compliance across the Group.

What you bring:

As the ideal candidate for the Group Accountant role, you bring a wealth of transferable experience along with your ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification. Your strong working knowledge of IFRS and understanding of audit procedures equip you to excel in this role. Your group tax knowledge will be highly beneficial, as will your proficiency in Excel and experience using various ERP systems. Your excellent communication skills enable you to build strong relationships across divisions and up to Board level. Above all, your ability to drive process improvements within a high-growth business sets you apart.

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of IFRS.
  • Experience or understanding of audit procedures.
  • Group tax knowledge would be highly advantageous.
  • Strong Excel skills and ability to analyse large volumes of data.
  • Experience using various ERP and statutory accounts preparation software.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong working relationships.
  • Ability to drive process improvements within a high-growth business.
