They are seeking an experienced, strategic, and highly motivated EMEA Group Financial Controller to join their dynamic finance team based in central Manchester. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse and fast-paced organisation, overseeing the financial operations and consolidation of multiple entities across the region.

About the RoleAs the EMEA Group Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in managing the financial consolidation of 80 entities across the EMEA region, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and driving strategic financial initiatives. You will lead and inspire a team of 20 finance professionals, ensuring the delivery of high-quality financial statements, insights, and processes. Reporting directly to the CFO, this role offers an excellent opportunity to shape and influence the financial strategy of a high-growth, international business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Consolidation: Oversee the financial consolidation of 80 entities across the EMEA region, ensuring compliance with IFRS/GAAP and delivering accurate, timely group financial reports.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and develop a high-performing team of 20 finance professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and accountability.
  • Financial Reporting: Lead the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the group, providing detailed financial insights to senior management.
  • Process Improvement: Identify, design, and implement financial processes, systems, and controls to ensure the efficient and effective management of financial reporting and consolidation.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with senior leadership, business unit heads, and regional financial teams to support decision-making and provide financial insights that align with corporate strategies.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes for the region, ensuring alignment with the company's financial goals and targets.
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, tax laws, and corporate governance policies across multiple jurisdictions within the EMEA region.
  • Audit & Statutory Compliance: Coordinate and manage the group’s audit processes, liaising with external auditors and ensuring timely and successful completion of audits.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively seek opportunities for cost efficiencies and process improvements across financial operations to optimize resources and drive value for the business.
  • Business Partnering: Act as a trusted advisor to key stakeholders within the business, providing financial advice and support on strategic initiatives and operational decisions.

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified Accountant: ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent qualification with at least 6 years of post-qualification experience.
  • Experience in Consolidation: Proven experience in consolidating financial results across multiple entities (80+ entities experience preferred).
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership skills with experience in managing and developing a large finance team (20+ people).
  • Technical Expertise: Extensive knowledge of IFRS, local GAAP, and financial reporting processes; hands-on experience with consolidation software (e.g., SAP, Hyperion, or similar).
  • Strategic Mindset: Ability to partner with senior leaders, providing strategic financial insights to drive business decisions.
  • Multinational Exposure: Experience in working across multiple countries and regions, with an understanding of the complexities of international finance, tax, and compliance.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
