About the RoleAs the EMEA Group Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in managing the financial consolidation of 80 entities across the EMEA region, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and driving strategic financial initiatives. You will lead and inspire a team of 20 finance professionals, ensuring the delivery of high-quality financial statements, insights, and processes. Reporting directly to the CFO, this role offers an excellent opportunity to shape and influence the financial strategy of a high-growth, international business.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Consolidation: Oversee the financial consolidation of 80 entities across the EMEA region, ensuring compliance with IFRS/GAAP and delivering accurate, timely group financial reports.
- Team Leadership: Manage and develop a high-performing team of 20 finance professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and accountability.
- Financial Reporting: Lead the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the group, providing detailed financial insights to senior management.
- Process Improvement: Identify, design, and implement financial processes, systems, and controls to ensure the efficient and effective management of financial reporting and consolidation.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with senior leadership, business unit heads, and regional financial teams to support decision-making and provide financial insights that align with corporate strategies.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes for the region, ensuring alignment with the company's financial goals and targets.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, tax laws, and corporate governance policies across multiple jurisdictions within the EMEA region.
- Audit & Statutory Compliance: Coordinate and manage the group’s audit processes, liaising with external auditors and ensuring timely and successful completion of audits.
- Continuous Improvement: Proactively seek opportunities for cost efficiencies and process improvements across financial operations to optimize resources and drive value for the business.
- Business Partnering: Act as a trusted advisor to key stakeholders within the business, providing financial advice and support on strategic initiatives and operational decisions.
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified Accountant: ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent qualification with at least 6 years of post-qualification experience.
- Experience in Consolidation: Proven experience in consolidating financial results across multiple entities (80+ entities experience preferred).
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership skills with experience in managing and developing a large finance team (20+ people).
- Technical Expertise: Extensive knowledge of IFRS, local GAAP, and financial reporting processes; hands-on experience with consolidation software (e.g., SAP, Hyperion, or similar).
- Strategic Mindset: Ability to partner with senior leaders, providing strategic financial insights to drive business decisions.
- Multinational Exposure: Experience in working across multiple countries and regions, with an understanding of the complexities of international finance, tax, and compliance.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
