Hays are looking for an experienced Management Accountant to join a leading finance team, part of a global consultancy providing services across numerous sectors such as property, energy, water, defence, transport and government. The position is to provide support to the Divisional support accountant, wider Finance team, and local Operational Directors & Managers to ensure that the financial health of the division is maintained. This will be a fixed-term assignment ranging from 12-14 months long.This position will ideally suit someone with prior experience as a Management Accountant who has worked in a busy finance department. We are looking for a confident person looking to progress their career within the finance world, ready to come in and hit the ground running!Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and analysis of month-end management accounts.
  • Review of overheads and prepare and input of accruals, prepayments.
  • Provide robust explanations for any significant trends/variations to target or forecast for each accountability centre
  • Reconciliation of various P&L/Project control accounts (e.g timecard clearing, contract status report) and investigation and correction of anomalies.
  • Support annual AOP (budget) process
  • Preparation and distribution of aged unbilled (WIP) /Debt and DSO reports.
  • Preparation and distribution of weekly utilisation reports
  • Assisting the Divisional Support accountant, Finance Business Partner with adhoc reports and special projects

Who we're looking for:

  • Previous Experience in Management Accounting and reporting month-end cycle (Preferable)
  • Previous experience of Oracle system (Preferable)
  • AAT qualified or part-qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA (Preferable)
  • Intermediate/ Advanced Excel and Report creating skills
