Temporary Management Accountant - Minimum 3-6 months with ability to apply for 2 year fixed term contract once in post£22.25 - £34.24 per hour (equivalent salary £40,484 - £62,312)1 day per fortnight in office (may be more during induction period)We are currently recruiting for a Management Accountant on behalf of a leading not for profit organisation whose head office is based in Manchester City Centre. This will be a temporary appointment for a period of 6 months, however there is a strong possibility that this could be extended or turn into a longer-term opportunity. This will be a hybrid role where you will be required to attend the office once per fortnight and you must be flexible on the day which you attend. Additional office days may be required during the initial training period.As a Management Accountant within this organisation, you will work closely with the Financial Controller and Senior Managers to offer financial advice and support to various departments and teams. This will include the provision and monitoring of budgets in addition to monitoring and reporting on financial performance.Main duties:* Preparing annual budgets including identifying any efficiencies* Preparing monthly management accounts including journal postings, variance analysis & forecasting annual performance.* Discussing financial performance & monitoring spending with departmental budget holders* Supporting budget holders with costings, identifying savings and monitoring variances* Compiling year end statutory accounts & supporting with the external audit of financial statements* Balance sheet reconciliation and reviews* Working across the management accounts team to identify continuous improvement opportunities and efficiencies to processes

Candidates for this role must be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:* Significant previous experience of management accounting. This would include production of the annual budget, subsequent re-forecasting and monthly reporting* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build good relationships with budget holders and other key stakeholders* The ability to user information from both financial and non-financial sources to assist with strategic decision making and to offer insight and advice to budget holders* Strong verbal and written communication skills are required to deliver clear financial information for a wide audience* Proven ability to analyse, interpret and articulate trends, variances and ultimately financial performance and to identify key cost drivers* Full membership of a recognised accounting body within the UK* Excellent knowledge of Excel with the ability to manipulate large data sets using pivot tables and a range of formulas* Strong organisation skills with the ability to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines and manage stakeholder expectations
