Our client is seeking a Project Accountant to join their team in Manchester City Centre. This role offers an attractive salary of £50,000 - £55,000 and the opportunity to work within a dynamic environment where your skills and experience will be utilised to positively impact performance. You will play a key role in the delivery of key projects, which could include supporting the integration of new acquisitions into the group and setting up new entities internationally.

What you'll do:

As a Project Accountant, you will be instrumental in building relationships across various departments to ensure that financial operations are running as efficiently as possible. Your role will involve working closely with both finance and non-finance teams to deliver projects successfully. You will also have the opportunity to utilise your skills and experience to make a positive impact on business growth. This role requires excellent coordination skills with cross-functional teams and an ability to think logically while carrying out complex analysis.

  • Partnering with finance and non-finance teams and stakeholders to successfully deliver projects.
  • Set project timelines and ensure they are being met, keeping in regular contact with key stakeholders.
  • Work with the Groups finance functions in delivery of integrations, process improvements and varied project work.
  • Become key liaison between finance and wider business' finance and operational teams.
  • Act as a key lead in driving process improvements across the finance function.
  • Support the integration of new acquisitions into the group.
  • Work closely with operational teams and assist with finance based information sharing and driving performance through the provision of MI.
  • Maximise personal skills, knowledge and experience to positively impact on performance.
  • Work on a variety of project-based activities, including back-office system integration, MI provision, reporting, cash flow, AP/AR based process improvements.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Project Accountant position will bring previous finance project experience from a fast-paced, multidivisional environment. You should have excellent attention to detail and be computer literate with good knowledge of Excel. Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills will enable you to build strong relationships with non-finance stakeholders. The ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines is essential for this role. A good knowledge of back-office systems and the ability to work within a team environment to achieve objectives are also key requirements.

  • Previous finance project experience, ideally in a fast-paced, multidivisional, operational environment.
  • Demonstrable excellent attention to detail.
  • Computer literate with good knowledge of Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive and able to build strong relationships with non-finance stakeholders.
  • Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Good knowledge of back-office systems.
  • Ability to work within a team environment to achieve team/department objectives.
  • Working towards a project management qualification (SQL, Prince 2 etc.) is advantageous.
