UK Financial Controller, Media PLC, Manchester, 70-80k DOE + bonus

I am working with a multi-billion pound leading Media business who are looking for a confident, technically astute Financial Controller to join the successful Group reporting function.

This is a newly created role with incredible visibility across the business, directly partnering with the UK FD's and CFO's being the 'go-to' person for technical accounting queries. You must be able to build trust and confidently partner senior leadership.

Reporting directly to the Head of Financial Control you will play an integral role in ensuring

the financial integrity of the statutory entities within the UK, ensuring all period end and local legal and regulatory deadlines are met. This role will manage the integrity of the balance sheet, P&L and legal entity financial reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform monthly Balance Sheet Reviews supported by the team and regular reviews with the UK FD
  • Ongoing review and development of processes and controls around monthly and annual reporting of multiple legal entities
  • Collaborate with the Head of Technical Accounting to assess the suitable accounting practices resulting from alterations in accounting standards or policy adjustments and provide necessary feedback to the business
  • Ensure all Group policies (including accounting, tax and treasury) and key controls are adhered to
  • Provide answers to complex statutory accounts, audit and technical queries back to the business

Essentials

  • ACA / ACCA Qualified 5+ years PQE
  • IFRS and UK GAAP - in particular IFRS15
  • Experience working for large/medium organisations
  • Confidence to partner senior leadership
