Paying up to £35k + Parking, based in North Manchester, our client is an established manufacturing business that are seeking an experienced AAT qualified Accounts Assistant to join their finance team. This is a full time, and permanent office-based job opportunity working Monday – Thursday 8:30am-5:30pm and 8:30am-3:00pm on a Friday.

THE JOB

Reporting to the Accounts Manager, as Accounts Assistant you will play a vital part in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the company, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in managing the financial records.

Your responsibilities as Accounts Assistant will include:

  • Sales Ledger – Setting up new accounts, checking credit limits, raising invoices, allocating cash and producing cashflow reports
  • Purchase Ledger –Processing, coding, query resolution and payment runs
  • Credit Control - Chasing overdue debts, emailing customer statements and overdue letters, placing accounts on hold and producing the debt report
  • Payroll – Assisting with the PAYE and pension payments
  • Month-end - Reconciling supplier statements, bank accounts reconciliations, balancing the fixed assets, producing VAT reports, resolving debtor queries, and balancing the control accounts

THE PERSON

This job opportunity would suit a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant with at least 2 years of experience in a similar role, who is committed to delivering accurate and high-quality work.

The ideal candidate will have Sage 200 experience, be AAT qualified, and be able to demonstrate the ability to work efficiently and calmly under pressure.

A background in manufacturing is desirable, but not essential. What’s crucial is your discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive information, along with your tenacity and self-motivation to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

You will need strong IT skills, advanced proficiency in Microsoft applications, and excellent communication skills. A professional attitude, self-confidence, and a willingness to embrace self-development are also key. We are seeking someone who is flexible and adaptable to change, with a proactive approach to challenges.
