Michael Page are recruiting an excellent opportunity for an Accounts Assistant to join a fast- growing business based in Manchester city centre.

Our client are an industry leading business going through a period of growth meaning it will be a fantastic time to join the company. They are currently recruiting for an Accounts Assistant with a strong background within transactional finance looking for more exposure.

Description

The key responsibilities of an Accounts Assistant will include:

  • Purchase Ledger and expense tasks - Accurately process all supplier invoices, verifying currency, tax rates, and any additional charges in a timely manner.
  • Promptly resolve any discrepancies to ensure on-time payments and a smooth audit trail.
  • Credit Control - Take ownership of credit checks, proactively contact customers in advance of invoices being paid, consistently follow up on unpaid invoices, and escalate issues as needed.
  • Sales Ledger tasks and sales order processing - You will be responsible for ensuring every invoice is processed accurately on first pass, and that no line item goes unchecked.
  • Bank Reconciliation - Maintain daily reconciliations across multiple entities.
  • Oversee Budgets
  • Oversee employee expenses - Verifying receipts, mileage logs, and other necessary documentation for accuracy.
  • Producing ad-hoc documents and reports - Create various financial reports on request

Profile

The successful Accounts Assistant will have:

  • Previous experience working within a Finance background
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Excel and Xero accounting software
  • High attention to detail
  • Can do attitude and eagerness to learn & develop
