Portfolio are recruiting for a fantastic global organisation with head offices in Manchester, this role has come about due to growth and proposed growth of the department. Reporting to Financial Controls Manager.

Job Purpose is to perform accurate reconciliations of payroll data and work closely with wider finance team(s) to provide high quality MI.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Payroll and pension month end duties, balance sheet reconciliations and reporting
  • Reconciliation of Payroll costs data to the General ledger
  • Payroll Year End returns including PSA and GPGR
  • Carry out ad-hoc reporting tasks across UK Group payroll
  • Produce monthly MI to wider Finance teams
  • Assist with documenting /maintaining and testing of payroll controls

Ad-hoc tasks required to support the wider Group Management Accounts Team

Requirements:

  • Have a recognised accountancy qualification or be part qualified - CIMA or ACCA
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Have strong Excel skills - V-lookups and Pivot Tables (Macros would be advantageous)
  • Previous experience with Salesforce would be advantageous
  • Possess strong communication skills - develop positive working relationships within the finance function and sales teams including challenging sales team and managing up
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work as part of a busy team and under time pressures
  • Possess strong communication skills
  • Have a good grasp and knowledge of payroll & pension legislation
  • Ability to organise and prioritise workloads
  • Power BI skills - desirable but not essential
  • Strong analytical thinking, commercial understanding and problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive mindset
