Axon Moore are delighted to be working with a well-established and growing business in based in Greater Manchester. The company has gone from strength to strength in their market, have recently made an acquisition. They are now looking to add an ambitious and driven Assistant Accountant to their Finance team. This role only requires the candidate to attend the office once a week, but we are looking for someone fairly local.In the role of Assistant Accountant, you will support the Finance Director with the production of management accounts, P&L and analysis to enable decision makers in the business. This is a very exciting opportunity for an ambitious candidate who is looking for development in a hands-on role in a growing business! Salary and Benefits:Salary £30,000 - £35,000 DOE, study support with AAT, ACCA or CIMA, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, hybrid working just 1 day in the office, flexible working hours (37.5h week) and potential to move to a 4 day work week, pension, blue light card, life assurance and critical illness cover, cash medical plan.Role Overview:
  • Production of management accounts for one entity and supporting the FD with the consolidated accounts and board packs – experience in this is beneficial.
  • Monthly journals, accruals and prepayments and depreciation – experience in this is essential.
  • Maintaining the fixed asset register.
  • Management of the balance sheet recs.
  • Supporting with the cash-flow forecast.
  • Financial reporting to the FD.
  • Supporting with local authority tender submissions.
  • Assist with the budget setting, reforecasting and variance analysis.
  • Supporting the SLT within the business where needed.
  • Respond to internal and external queries promptly.
  • Provide the team AP/AR team with cover for sickness and holiday.
  • Ad hoc work outside the remit of the role as required.
Your Experience as an Assistant Management Accountant:
  • AAT/ACCA/CIMA part-qualification
  • Experience with Sage would be beneficial
  • Experience working in an Assistant Accountant role or similar
  • Strong communication - written and verbal
  • Excellent excel skills are essential, ability to confidently use VLOOKUP’s and pivot tables
  • A driven individual with a positive “can do” and “will do” attitude
  • Ability to successfully organise, prioritise work dynamically and able to work autonomously
