Assistant Accountant – Manchester City Centre – Hybrid Working – Sports Industry

Working with a grant funded Organisation within the Sports / Leisure sector who are looking for a well-rounded and experienced Assistant Accountant to support its Financial Operations

Key Responsibilities:

  • Day-to-Day Financial Operations – Maintain accurate financial records, including ledger management, bank reconciliations, and VAT returns.
  • Management Accounts Support – Assist with monthly reporting, profit & loss analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Collaborative Business Support – Provide financial guidance to internal teams, answer queries, and ensure smooth financial operations.
  • Process & Systems Improvement – Enhance financial procedures for efficiency and accuracy.
  •  Year-End Preparation – Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts and audits.

Required knowledge and experience:

  • Experienced Assistant Accountants looking for a stable, rewarding role in a supportive organisation.
  • Experience of Ledgers / Reconciliation / VAT Returns as well as Management Accounts and Statutory Accounts prep
  • Studying towards AAT / ACCA / CIMA or Finance Graduates with relevant experience
  • Individuals who enjoy hands-on finance work and want to contribute to a high-profile industry.
  • Experience using Sage or similar accounting software.
  • Strong attention to detail, organisation skills, and a proactive mindset
