We are seeking to recruit a Business Support Officer for Manchester City Council. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a busy environment and is skilled in managing multiple administrative tasks efficiently.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Manage appointments and prepare panel packs for major adaptations.
  • Support the Blue Badge Team with administrative tasks.
  • Manage diary entries for smart suite bookings.
  • Work closely with both assessment and technical teams within MEAP.
  • Place orders for minor equipment and handle procurement tasks.
  • Deal efficiently and courteously with queries and correspondence from a wide range of internal and external customers.
  • Use initiative and established procedures to resolve queries at the first point of contact or escalate when appropriate.
  • Update and extract information from management information systems accurately.
  • Complete all documentation and correspondence to a high standard and within agreed timescales.
  • Monitor and maintain office stationery and equipment in line with procedures and budgets.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a business support or administrative role.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to handle queries with tact and diplomacy.
  • Competency in using management information systems and extracting relevant data.
