Manchester City Council is seeking a Rehousing Officer to join our Housing Services Team. This is an exciting opportunity for a well-motivated individual to provide dedicated support for the smooth operation of the Rehousing Service. The role involves carrying out assessments, providing high-quality advice, and ensuring that service users are supported to maximise their independence.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Carry out a variety of administrative tasks and processes to support the Rehousing Service.
  • Conduct assessments to determine service users’ needs and provide appropriate support to ensure that outcomes are achieved within required timescales.
  • Work actively with partner agencies and stakeholders to ensure that service users can access community and national services to achieve their identified outcomes.
  • Understand the social care needs of service users and respond to their individual needs by providing and promoting access to relevant services.
  • Work collaboratively with partner agencies to provide an efficient assessment service and improve positive outcomes for service users.
  • Identify and refer safeguarding issues and risks of service users through appropriate channels and assist in safeguarding investigations.
  • Maintain records and monitoring information, ensuring procedures are followed to produce accurate and appropriate reports to evidence service performance and efficiency.
  • Participate proactively in initiatives and future changes to service delivery to ensure the implementation of new strategies and continuous improvement of the service model.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience in housing, social care, or a related field.
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies related to housing and social care.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality service and support to vulnerable individuals.
