I am currently recruiting for an interim Senior Infection Prevention and Control Nurse for a large acute Hospital in the North West of England.
*** PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS AN ONSITE ROLE ***
We are offering an exciting opportunity to advance your skills in managing and enhancing the Trust's Infection Prevention and Control Service. In collaboration with the Associate Chief Nurse for Infection Prevention, you will take on the responsibility of overseeing the daily operations of the Infection Prevention and Control team, guiding the implementation of strategies aimed at reducing infection risks for patients, staff, and visitors.
In this role, you will be instrumental in helping the Trust meet key health targets, including those related to MRSA, C. difficile, and Gram-negative bloodstream infections. You will also ensure compliance with the Health and Social Care Act 2008 Code of Practice on the Prevention and Control of Infections and related guidance.
We are looking for candidates with strong communication skills who can work effectively both as part of a team and independently. You should be adaptable to working in a dynamic environment, with the ability to manage frequent interruptions and respond to urgent, high-pressure situations. Daily collaboration with clinical staff will be essential, as you provide expert advice on ensuring safe patient care.
The successful candidate will also deputise for the Associate Chief Nurse for Infection Prevention & Control. Participation in an on-call rota is part of the role, though this is currently under review.
