You will need to coordinate with multiple teams to ensure the smooth rollout of our application services to our customers, managing bespoke deployments and requirements.

You will be responsible for the management of the rest of the operations team staff and work directly with the Tech Leads and Team Leads of the development teams. The operations team are also empowered to feed changes directly back to the applications they are deploying, to ensure the best possible customer experience.

Internally, the majority of systems are SaaS based with a limited number of cloud-based traditional servers and applications. This team is wholly responsible for the internal systems and IT facilities.

The data capture systems run a combination of off the shelf tools and custom applications for the purpose of online activity monitoring and analysis. These are used to provide our customers with insights into the online behaviour of opted-in market research participants.

Our client has an out of hours on-call team (additional compensation is made) that you may be asked to join after a suitable settling in period.

Our client employs modern development practices in our workflow, using Git alongside CI/CD, unit testing and open-source coding standards. There are lots of opportunities to work in other areas or technologies and expand your knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

Day to day management of operations tasks, including but not limited to the following...

Rollouts of our application service

Patches/Security Updates

Maintenance

Licence/software contract, certificate and hardware renewals

Mentoring and performance management of the operations team staff

Ensuring incidents are handled within our SLA terms

Managing support and maintenance cycles for customers and staff

Coordination of changes with affected teams and customers

Working closely with the development teams

Adhering to company policies and procedures with respect to security, quality, and health and safety

Person Specification

Required Skills and Experiences

High level of self-organisation

Management of diverse staff

Ability to deal with changing requirements & priorities

The ability to solve problems and find out or source information

Good communication skills

Experience in SaaS service management

Experience in IT Operations management

Strong understanding of information security, ISO 27001, and other processes and policies

Atlassian development management tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket)

Technology experience in Linux, web development (PHP, JavaScript), infrastructure automation, AWS
