Sales Support Engineer

Location: Bolton

Salary: £48,000 + Benefits

7% Pension contribution.

Role Overview:

The Support Engineer will be part of the Lifecycle Sales Department, providing technical expertise and support for existing customers. This role focuses primarily on retrofit projects and maintaining strong client relationships. The ideal candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting technical issues, facilitating project delivery, and acting as a key communication link between customers and the company’s manufacturing hub in Germany.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Support: Assist customers with technical challenges involving designs, quotes, and order specifications.
  • Customer Liaison: Act as the main point of contact for customer queries and manage expectations during project delivery.
  • Project Management: Oversee the smooth execution of small-scale retrofit projects for existing machine installations.
  • Coordination: Communicate effectively with the German manufacturing facility, ensuring project timelines and customer requirements are met.
  • Application Expertise: Provide solutions for tricky applications, ensuring customer satisfaction with the company’s products and services.
  • Problem Solving: Diagnose and resolve issues related to production line installations, upgrades, or retrofits.

Qualifications:

  • Degree or diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • If no qualification you would need to be able to demonstrate technical engineering (mech or elec) capabilities

Experience:

  • Background in applications engineering, service engineering, or a similar role, preferably within manufacturing, OEM, or automation industries.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of production machinery, retrofitting, and design principles.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage client relationships and expectations effectively.
  • Advantageous: Experience in the beverage or FMCG sector, working on machinery or automated systems.
