We have an exciting opportunity for an Ocean Freight Export Operator to join a well-established freight forwarder renowned for their expertise in air, road, sea, and warehousing services. As the Senior Ocean Freight Export Operator, you'll play a crucial role in our team, ensuring that every shipment is handled seamlessly. You'll oversee the end-to-end process of ocean import logistics, from tracking shipments and managing documentation to coordinating with customs and resolving any issues that arise. Responsibilities
- Although not a supervisory role, your role will involve supporting the team with your knowledge and expertise the industry
- Your role will also be to support the growing Ocean Import/Export team with key insights.
- Oversee & Independently handle shipments in the role of Ocean freight Exports in accordance with quality standards, including documentation, booking, shipment control, transport insurance, accounting, and customs handling
- Provide customer support in conjunction with the Sales Department, including occasional client visits when required
- Key account Management would be an advantage, and will be a prominent part of your role.
- Handle complaints in line with BIFA Terms and Conditions, including correct KPI recording
- Communicate with our UK, Overseas offices, and agents
- Focus on ensuring the most cost-effective service solutions are being utilized without risk to service levels
Qualifications
- A minimum of 10 years' experience working within Freight forwarding, ideally in Sea freight Operations
- Extensive experience within sea freight Operations
- Previous experience in Ocean freight Import operations
- Knowledge of BIFA Terms and Conditions
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and efficiently
- Familiarity with customs handling and transport insurance
