Associate Structural Engineer
Location: Manchester city centre
Salary: circa 65k plus yearly bonus and other benefits
We are currently looking for an Associate Structural Engineer to join a growing Civil & Structural Engineering Consultancy in the centre of Manchester, walking distance from all the main train stations.
The company have 30 staff across 2 offices in the North of England. The Manchester office opened 18 months ago and currently have 4 staff including a Senior Structural Engineer. This Associate role is to lead the Structures Division in Manchester. The key selling point of this role as there will be no-one above you in Manchester in the structural engineering department so a clear route to progress over the next few years for the right person.
We are looking for someone with experience in client management who wants the opportunity to get involved with more work winning and marketing activities with support from the Directors. You are not expected to have a 'book of clients' but the opportunity is there for someone to oversee the technical work in Manchester and have scope to get involved with more client interaction with scope of progressing to AD & Director in the future. Ideally you will be a Chartered Engineer with experience of working on building led projects across sectors such as commercial, education, healthcare, industrial, resi etc.
Experience Required:
- 8+ years experience in structural design across a mix of residential, commercial, retail, leisure, and education schemes
- Technical input and design management on complex structural engineering projects
- Experienced in managing client relationships and taking a lead role on projects, existing client relationships would be beneficial but not essential
- Ability to effectively manage and train junior members of the structural design team
- Chartership with IStructE or ICE strongly preferred
