Currently seeking an experienced BMS Commissioning Engineer to join the team for an exciting project based in Manchester, involving multiple education and healthcare sites. The successful candidate will be responsible for the commissioning, programming, and troubleshooting of Building Management Systems (BMS) with a specific focus on Schneider EcoStruxure platforms.
As a key member of the commissioning team, you will be required to work closely with project managers, site teams, and clients to ensure the successful delivery of BMS systems, ensuring optimal performance, energy efficiency, and alignment with client requirements. This is an initial 6-month contract, with the possibility of an extension based on project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Commissioning BMS systems (primarily Schneider EcoStruxure) from scratch across a variety of education and healthcare sites in the Manchester area.
- Programming and software development for BMS systems, writing code from scratch based on project specifications and client needs.
- Integration of third-party systems into the BMS, ensuring seamless operation and control of all building services.
- Carrying out point-to-point testing, sensor calibration, and controller setup to ensure accurate system performance.
- Work with mechanical and electrical contractors to ensure smooth commissioning processes and compliance with design documents.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues during the commissioning phase, ensuring that systems are fully operational and meeting performance targets.
- Produce detailed commissioning reports and handover documentation, clearly outlining system performance, testing results, and any necessary adjustments.
- Provide on-site training and support to end-users and facilities management teams.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and project specifications throughout the commissioning process.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience as a BMS Commissioning Engineer, with a strong focus on Schneider EcoStruxure systems.
- Ability to write BMS software from scratch, including programming controllers, configuring graphics, and setting up databases.
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems and the ability to integrate them with BMS systems.
- Experience in education and/or healthcare projects is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with control protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, and other relevant communication protocols.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues during the commissioning phase.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with project teams, clients, and contractors.
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload, while also being a team player in multi-disciplinary environments.
