Building Physics Engineer

A specialist building performance engineering team based in Manchester is seeking an experienced Building Physics Engineer to join them on a range of projects across the UK. You'll be working across commercial, industrial, retail and residential industries, contributing to the environmental design of buildings including mechanical and electrical systems, lighting design, low-zero carbon technology or environmental design of buildings.

The key responsibilities of this Building Physics Engineer role include:

  • Carrying out energy modelling and building simulations using IES VE.
  • Establishing Part L Compliance, CIBSE TM59/52 & AD O Compliance, EPCs, CIBSE TM54 Operational Energy, SAP Assessments.
  • Writing and delivering reports to clients.
  • Contributing to business development.

Requirements to be considered for this Building Physics Engineer role:

  • Experience using Integrated Environmental Solutions (IES VE) building simulation software (Model IT, ApacheSim, VistaPro, MacroFlo, VE Compliance).
  • Experience with Part L compliance, EPCs, CIBSE TM59/52 Overheating Analysis.
  • Have demonstratable building physics experience in energy modelling and building simulation.
  • Knowledge of UK building regulations, energy codes and planning requirements.
  • (Ideally) IES Accreditation and/or OCDEA/LCC/LCEA qualifications.
  • A degree in building physics or a similar relevant subject.
  • Live in or committable to Manchester
