Working with a well-established engineering company who provide products and services for the carton, corrugated, flexible, narrow mid-web and digital packaging industry, throughout the UK, Ireland, and Scandinavia. They are looking for a Mechanical Field Service Engineer to join the team.

Key Responsibilities – Mechanical Field Service Engineer

Field Service Technicians are responsible for ensuring that our customer's machinery and equipment remain at optimum performance. The successful candidate will provide on-site mechanical support, including the repair and installation of new machines, relocation of existing equipment, customer training, preventative maintenance, ordering parts necessary to perform installations and repair, troubleshooting problems and proactively recommending the necessary service and maintenance programmes.

The Field Service Technician is at the core of an extensive support network of service personnel worldwide. This trusted advisor is the key customer representative, responsible for confirming, clarifying, and meeting the customers' expectations at every stage of contact and on every service, project relating to our machines. The Field Service Technician possesses a strong background in the principles of mechanical engineering. They think logically and enjoy solving problems with creativity, diligence and above all else, focus on excellent customer service.

Qualifications & Experience – Mechanical Field Service Engineer

  • Candidates will ideally be qualified HNC, HND or degree level within a relevant. Engineering discipline or have successfully completed an engineering apprenticeship.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in maintaining and repairing purpose-built machinery.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Understanding of mechanical drawings and systems.
  • Ability to diagnose faults and make recommendations of improvements.
  • Ability to work alone and under pressure.
  • Ability to communicate in all situations at all levels of an organisation.
  • Full UK driving licence.
