Overview:
I am working on behalf of my client, a respected consulting engineering specialising in Civil and Structural Engineering. This is an exceptional opportunity for a qualified Structural Engineering professional to step into a leadership role within their organisation. The appointed Partner will oversee and grow teams in the Manchester and Birmingham offices while building strong relationships with both existing and new clients across multiple sectors. Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Team Management: Provide strategic leadership to your team, ensuring high standards in project delivery across both Manchester and Birmingham offices. Manage multidisciplinary teams to meet client needs effectively.
- Client & Project Management: Take responsibility for the technical and commercial management of projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget. Liaise with clients, ensuring clear communication and satisfaction.
- Health & Safety: Ensure that health and safety protocols are adhered to throughout the project lifecycle.
- Business Development: Foster strong client relationships, contributing to the growth of the business by expanding the client base and developing new opportunities.
- Reporting: Prepare and review bid documents, appointments, and project deliverables in accordance with company policies.
- Mentorship & Development: Oversee the professional development of team members, offering training, mentoring, and performance management.
- Risk & Change Management: Manage any project risks, including scope changes and claims for delivery issues. Ensure proper documentation and resolution processes are followed.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Essential:
- Minimum BEng, MEng, or MSc in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Chartered with ICE or IStructE.
- Proven experience in structural engineering across various materials, including reinforced concrete, steel, timber, and masonry.
- A solid understanding of British construction methods, regulations, and industry standards.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to lead diverse teams and deliver complex projects.
- Desirable:
- Involvement in industry research groups or committees.
- Experience in managing financials, including bid preparation and P&L responsibility.
- A commitment to continuous professional development and innovation within the engineering field.
