Our client is seeking a skilled Structural Engineer with experience and expertise in designing, assessing, and evaluating structural elements in residential and commercial projects. This role involves providing detailed structural calculations, performing on-site inspections, and delivering comprehensive structural condition reports.
Key Responsibilities for structural engineer:
- Structural Calculations and Design: Prepare accurate calculations and structural designs for a range of projects including wall openings, property extensions, loft conversions, and footing designs, adhering to all relevant codes and standards.
- Structural Assessments and Condition Reporting: Conduct structural surveys (Level 2 or Level 3) and prepare in-depth condition reports, identifying potential structural issues and recommending corrective measures.
- Project Coordination: Collaborate with architects, construction teams, and other project stakeholders to ensure the structural integrity and feasibility of designs.
- Technical Documentation: Produce and maintain comprehensive documentation, including technical drawings, analysis, and project records, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Mentorship and Development (Senior/Chartered Levels): For Senior and Chartered Engineers, provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, reviewing their work and supporting professional growth within the team.
Qualifications and Skills for structural engineer:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
- Experience: Varies by level; a minimum of 3 years for Structural Engineer, with 5+ years preferred for Senior/Chartered positions.
- Professional Accreditation: Chartered status with IStructE or ICE is highly desirable for Chartered-level roles.
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in relevant structural engineering software, design codes, and regulations.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear and concise reporting and stakeholder interaction.
Salary and Benefits for structural engineer:
