Job Overview:
Provide engineering support to all areas of the business, customers and supplier base. Contribute to the development and growth of the business whilst maintaining the company’s safety and quality standards. Undertake engineering activities to ensure that all supplied products are in accordance with national and internationally recognised standards and specifications for a wide range of products and services.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Lead customer engineering meetings.
- Manage change process.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customer counterparts.
- Work to product standards and specifications.
- Compiling comprehensive technical reports.
- Supplier and customer technical interface.
- Provide support to First and Final article inspections.
- Undertake document and drawing reviews including clause by clause reviews of new and updated specifications.
- Provide support to contract variations and concessions.
- Resolving Customer, Supplier, and Internal technical queries.
- Provide support to audits.
- Support product improvements to improve life cycle cost and performance.
- Support special investigations including joint investigations, National Incident Reports, and warranty issues.
- Support the implementation of new product classes into the production areas.
- Reverse engineering of components.
- Promote a positive Health and safety culture.
Experience:
- A minimum of two years working in a technical role within a manufacturing environment.
Required skills & Qualifications:
- A Technical Degree, preferably in Mechanical Engineering.
- Chartered/Incorporated Engineering with a recognised Institution is preferable.
- Able to read and interpret technical engineering drawings and specifications.
- IT literate and familiar with Microsoft office software.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in the use of AutoCAD and SolidWorks desirable but not essential.
