This role offers an excellent opportunity for Project Managers to engage in high-profile projects with the Atomic Weapons Agency (AWE). The successful candidates will be involved in delivering a variety of projects across the North West of England, including site moves, new builds, office relocations, and renovations. This position provides a dynamic environment where you can leverage your project management expertise to contribute to significant business outcomes while working in a supportive and collaborative team setting.

 

Role and Responsibilities:

We are seeking Project Managers to join the AWE team. The successful candidates will manage and deliver a range of projects, including site moves, new builds, office relocations, and renovations. The role will involve working across the North West, primarily based out of the Manchester offices, with a likely hybrid working model.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Business Unit Directors in achieving business objectives.
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Manage projects to deliver high-quality services and meet customer requirements.
  • Administer contracts as a Project Manager, Employer’s Agent, or Contract Administrator.
  • Identify and pursue new business development opportunities.
  • Ensure all deliverables are completed on time, within budget, and to customer satisfaction.
  • Advise directors on any issues affecting project outcomes or professional indemnity insurance.

Candidate Profile:

Required Qualifications:

  • Security Clearance held or previously held (with no reason why it couldn’t be renewed).
  • Project Management experience.
  • A levels, BTEC, or BSc degree or equivalent.

Desirable Skills:

  • Sound project management or programme management experience in the built environment.
  • Experience in sectors such as Education, Central Government, Industrial/Manufacturing, and Local Authority.
  • Knowledge of project management techniques and construction contract administration (NEC/JCT experience beneficial).
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and financial skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with planning programme tools (MSP/Asta).
  • Ability to manage both internal and external teams.
