Paying up to £60k basic + bonus + benefits - A highly successfully and fast expanding wholesale and distribution company based in Greater Manchester are seeking a proactive and experienced National Account Manager to oversee and grow relationships with their major grocery accounts such as Lidl, Tesco, Costco and Carrefour.

THE JOB

This National Accounts Manager role is pivotal in driving sales, profitability, product development, and developing new business within their grocery channel. You will also manage and mentor an Account Manager to support day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Account Management: Build and maintain relationships with grocery accounts, driving growth and meeting business needs.
  • Sales Growth: Develop strategies to achieve sales targets and ensure profitable growth.
  • New Business: Identify and secure opportunities to expand into new grocery channels.
  • Operational Support: Work with internal teams to ensure smooth delivery and order fulfillment.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and support the Account Manager in achieving performance goals.
  • Marketing & Promotions: Collaborate with marketing teams to execute campaigns aligned with account needs.
  • Data & Reporting: Monitor performance, analyse sales data, and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Budgeting: Manage budgets and sales forecasts, reporting directly to the Sales Director.

THE PERSON

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in channel or national account management in FMCG or retail.
  • Strong track record in managing large accounts and achieving sales targets.
  • Skilled in sales, negotiation, and operational planning.
  • Experienced in leading teams and mentoring junior staff.
  • An analytical mindset with the ability to draw actionable insights from data.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
