NC Associates are working in partnership with a fast paced and growing SME E-Commerce business based in Manchester City Centre. The business is looking to recruit an Accounts Payable Clerk to help assist the Management Accountant and wider finance team in supporting the smooth running of the Accounts Payable function. The business has grown considerably over the past few years and has massive expansion plans so with this they require an extremely hands on Accounts Payable Clerk who isnt afraid of getting stuck in, new processes and systems are being implemented so they require a self sufficient Accounts Payable Clerk to help with the smooth running of the AP function

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Daily cash reconciliation for GBP and USD currency accounts & credit cards
  • Processing purchase invoices, matching to purchase orders, obtaining authorisation where necessary, coding to the system and resolving any queries
  • Preparing proposed payment runs and processing payments onto the bank
  • Assist with the implementation of various processes to adhere to new finance system
  • Complex supplier statement reconciliations and month-end supplier reconciliations
  • Expenses processing & payments
  • Responsible for reconciling bank accounts and credit cards for month-end
  • Monitor multiple 3rd party portals for new invoices and reports
  • Manage the accounts inbox
  • Any adhoc/additional tasks as required by Management Accountant 

Essential Experience Required

  • Experience within E-commerce business is preferable, experience in a similar business/SME/manufacturing would be suitable
  • Previous experience working in a similar role within Accounts Payable
  • Understand basic accounting concepts/bookkeeping
  • Moderate Excel skills
  • Dealing with large volume of transactional posting, especially stock invoices
  • Be super organised and can work in a start-up environment
  • Show initiative and be pro-active when it comes to problem solving
  • Be a team player
