Sheet Metal Operative

We are looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking person to join long-established switchgear manufacturer based in Manchester.

The role requires the individual to manufacture fabricated sheet metal components and other items to a high standard in mild steel. You must have experience of working in a similar industry with 2mm and 3mm sheet steel and familiar with performing punching, bending and welding operations.

Requirements:

• Have an excellent eye for detail.
• Have excellent communication verbal/written.
• Be able to read and interpret technical drawings in both 3rd and 1st angle projection.
• Have good time management.
• Good basic Maths and English would be required.
• Electronic/electrical or mechanical/City & Guilds qualification would be advantageous
• Use of turret/punch machine with CNC interface.
• Use of press brake with CNC interface.
• Mig and tig welding.
• Spot welding.
• Use of hand and power tools.

• Monday to Thursday 07.00 to 15.30
• Friday 07.00 to 14.30

This is contract role with the possibility of becoming permanent.
