IT Support Engineer - 1st Line
Our client is looking for a 1st Line IT Support Engineer to join the team on an initial 4-month contract onsite in Manchester, providing essential technical support for our Windows-based environment. You'll play a key role in laptop and desktop staging, ensuring that approximately 80 laptops and 10 desktops are correctly configured, connected, and ready for deployment.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for IT issues, providing technical assistance and troubleshooting for users.
- Configure and prepare Windows-based laptops and desktops for deployment, ensuring all required applications and settings are in place.
- Install and configure operating systems, software, and security updates on all devices.
- Ensure seamless network connectivity for all devices, troubleshooting any connection issues.
- Assist employees with IT-related queries, escalating complex issues when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of all IT assets, ensuring efficient tracking and inventory control.
Key experience
- Experience in 1st Line IT Support, preferably in a Windows environment.
- Familiarity with laptop and desktop staging, setup, and configuration.
- Strong understanding of Windows OS, networking, and troubleshooting.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
