Our client is at the forefront of transforming the energy infrastructure systems to power a net-zero carbon future.  They are seeking a Business Development Manager to lead their Flexible Services strategy. In this pivotal role, you’ll develop and execute a targeted engagement plan for key customer accounts, building strategic partnerships to deliver cutting-edge solutions in energy efficiency, flexibility services, and capacity optimisation. The ideal candidate will come from a Flexible Procurement background, used to managing large, complex I&C customers and interested in a shift in career to shape a net-zero carbon future in the multi-utilities space. Responsibilities

  • Own development and delivery of Capacity Management (CM) activities and identify opportunities for Flexibility Services (FS) tender participation. 
  • Support development of FS workstreams - maximising participation & product development
  • Provide market and competitor analysis to drive and implement strategy. 
  • Evaluate Policy & Regulation that impacts workstreams across CM & FS. 
  • Develop processes and manage relationships between Strategic Planning and Connections 
  • Develop, implement, and own the targeted engagement plan for key customer accounts, developing strategic relationships and producing monthly reports. 
  • Advise customers on options for energy efficiency, FS provision, capacity increases and reductions, and the installation and management of low carbon technologies 
  • Capture load related connections info from I&C customers to provide pre application support 
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with strategic partners 
  • Support the development and delivery of the team’s events programme. 

Experience

  • Experience in Energy essential – either DSO sales or flexible procurement
  • Strategic Business development experience essential within an Energy/Utilities environment
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance in the utility / energy sector 
  • Experience working in a regulated environment 
  • Ability to interpret and manipulate data 
  • Excellent communication skills
