Reporting to the Facilities & Environmental Manager you will manage a team of operatives to deliver a customer first approach to provide an effective and proactive facilities management services, contributing to the security, safety, environmental cleanliness and well-being of customers in their homes and neighbourhoods.

Description

  • Manage and supervise a team of operatives delivering high levels of customer satisfaction within the Facilities and Environmental team.
  • You will be an ambassador for the Facilities and Environmental service and the wider organisation delivering excellent customer services, demonstrating One Manchester values and behaviours at all times
  • Undertake line management duties including managing performance, conducting 1 to 1s, setting, monitoring and reviewing targets, implementing cyclical maintenance schedules and conducting meetings and toolbox talks.
  • Work closely with the other Facilities and Environmental Team Leaders to efficiently manage the performance of Greenspace, Facility Coordinators and Caretakers teams and co-ordinate workload across a defined geographical area appropriately to meet service priorities and delivery requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with Neighbourhood Officers, Neighbourhood Managers and other relevant partners to design, deliver and maintain a Neighbourhood Plan/programme/schedule of works and agree customer service standards which can be effectively managed for all facility and greenspace maintenance services.
  • Lead and develop effective remedies to tackle estate management issues including localised dumping, vandalism, litter & graffiti and ensuring this is delivered in partnership with MCC, refuse services and other contractors.
  • Manage contractors relating to facilities and grounds maintenance ensuring VFM, quality and statutory requirements are achieved

Profile

  • Holds the IOSH Managing Safely Certificate (or equivalent), or willingness to work towards.
  • Facilities Management qualification (or equivalent], or willingness to work towards
  • Holds a CIH qualification (or equivalent}, or will work towards
  • Full driving license
  • Experienced in using Microsoft Office packages
  • Experience of managing and leading a property maintenance service
