Job Description

Equitas is seeking a dedicated and experienced Head of Business Studies and Computing to lead a forward-thinking department at a Good Ofsted-rated co-educational state school. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and innovative leader to inspire students and staff while shaping the future of these key subjects within the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Business Studies and Computing department to deliver outstanding teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement a high-quality curriculum that meets the needs of all students.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, ensuring high levels of achievement and engagement.
  • Support and develop staff within the department, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team.
  • Ensure the effective use of technology to enhance learning and teaching across both subjects.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to contribute to the school’s overall vision and strategic direction.

Person Specification:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong background in Business Studies and/or Computing.
  • Experience teaching Business Studies and Computing at KS3, KS4, and ideally KS5.
  • Proven ability to lead, manage, and inspire a team.
  • Strong understanding of curriculum development, assessment, and innovative teaching strategies.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
