Portfolio Payroll are proud to be partnering a fantastic organisation based in South Manchester to recruit an experienced Payroll Operations Manager with experience of working with a transitioning Payroll function. This is a high volume payroll function of circa 30,000 with plans to diversify the payroll offering. This role offers lots of scope for development and is a role driven by change - The successful candidate will have experience in managing change and driving positive culture.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to drive the direction of the Payroll team and grow and develop a team of payrollers. We are ideally looking for candidates with a bnackground in either NHS payrolls or Public sector, although all backgrounds will be considered.

Key Duties/Tasks:

  • Overseeing a large operational payroll team
  • Drive positive change to current processes, analyse as is and drive a plan for the future of the Payroll function
  • Drive efficiencies, system upgrades and role evaluation
  • Liaise with key stakeholders as part of the senior management team
  • Design, drive and deliver critical change to the payroll team
