Class 2 Driver
Location: Irlam, M44 6BA
Shifts: Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM start until finish
Pay Rate: £30,677 per annum
Job Type: Temporary to Permanent
About the Role:
- A well-established flooring distribution company is seeking Class 2 (CAT C) Multi-Drop Delivery Drivers to join their team in Irlam.
- This is a physically demanding role that requires heavy manual handling, including lifting, unloading carpets and flooring products, and handballing pallet goods.
- Drivers will be responsible for delivering flooring products to retail stores and high street locations This is a temp-to-perm opportunity, offering long-term career stability and progression.
- As part of the client's recycling programme Class 2 drivers have the opportunity to earn more through their Tube allowance scheme (paid monthly)
- As the role is Temp to Perm the first 15 weeks will be paid hourly at £13.11 with a guaranteed 45 weeks per week (Job and Finish)
Key Responsibilities:
- Driving long or short distances
- Multi-drop between 15 to 25 drops per day
- Maintain Good Customer service + direct client communication -
- Lifting and carrying goods , loading and unloading, a lot of heavy lifting
- Making sure loads are safely secured
- Following traffic reports and adapting routes if necessary
- Completing delivery paperwork or Electronic App
- Comply with Driver Hour Tacho and road Regulations
- Drive in an efficient and economical manner
- Carrying out daily vehicle checks (start + end of shift)
- Report and correctly any accident or incident
Requirements:
- A valid Class 2 (C) License and Driver CPC card.
- A valid Digital Tachograph card.
- Ability to lift and carry goods heavy goods
- Experience of working within an Transport (warehouse and distribution) environment.
- Working knowledge of distribution environment and driver's hour regulations.
