Position Type: Full-Time (Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 3:00 pm) - Closed over christmas!
Salary: Up to £14 per hour DOE

Xander Catering Ltd. is currently seeking a skilled and motivated commis chefs/Chef de Partie's to join our catering team at Manchester Airport. This position offers an excellent opportunity to be creative with an ever changing menu feeding the operatiives working on the refurb of Manchester airport aswell as the airline staff on their breaks. Overseen by our operations chef you will be given all the training and support needed to succeed in this role with plenty of progression opportunities available as we grow.

This position is a customer facing role and will require interraction with customers throughout the day so strong customer service skills are a must.

Key Responsibilities:

Food Preparation: Assist in the preparation and cooking of menu items according to established recipes and standards.
Menu Development: Collaborate with the Head Chef to contribute ideas for menu enhancements and improvements.
Quality Control: Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas. Ensure adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations.
Team Support: Work closely with kitchen team members to coordinate food production and service.
Stock Management: Assist in stock rotation, inventory management, and ordering supplies as needed.
Customer Service: Interact professionally with project staff and stakeholders, ensuring prompt and friendly service.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a commis chef/Chef de Partie or similar role in a busy kitchen environment.
  • Strong culinary skills with a passion for food and cooking.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and kitchen best practices.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work schedules.
