Our client, a globally recognized operating company in the North West, is seeking an experienced and motivated Process Operations Engineer to join their expanding team. With recent project wins, including a groundbreaking hydrogen initiative and major plant upgrades, this is an exciting opportunity to be part of a company driving innovation and growth in the energy sector.
As part of a team set to grow significantly this year, you’ll collaborate closely with operations and engineering disciplines, ensuring production optimization, risk mitigation, and HSE excellence. This role also offers the chance to shape the future of the site through longer-term improvements that enhance safety, reliability, and profitability across the entire value chain—from feedstock to product quality.
Key Responsibilities:- Performance Monitoring: Rigorously track and report production unit performance, from short-term troubleshooting to long-term optimization using advanced analytical tools.
- Operational Support: Partner with operations teams to ensure production plans are met, providing expert advice on process optimization and troubleshooting.
- Compliance & Reporting: Validate and submit critical monthly data to meet regulatory and legislative requirements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Capital Projects: Identify, develop, and support small to medium-sized capital projects, including commissioning and implementation.
- Documentation Ownership: Maintain key technical documents such as P&IDs, area classification drawings, plot plans, COMAH process descriptions, and major accident hazard flow schemes.
Our ideal candidate will bring:
- Education: A degree in Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: At least 3–5 years in a process or operations engineering role within a high-hazard (e.g., COMAH-regulated) environment.
- Technical Expertise: Knowledge of process optimization, troubleshooting, and HSE best practices, particularly in hydrogen, oil & gas, or petrochemical operations.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with COMAH regulations and industry safety standards.
- Problem-Solving Skills: A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to resolve operational challenges and identify opportunities for growth.
- Team Collaboration: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Flexibility: A readiness to take on new challenges and support a rapidly evolving facility.
