SRG are working with a well-established manufacturer of lubricants and metalworking fluids, with offices globally. They are currently looking for a Development Chemist to join the technical team on a permanent basis, at their site in Greater Manchester. This role will predominantly involve formulating and developing both new and existing products, with experience Development Chemists in a similar position well suited to this role. Industrial experience of lubricants and metalworking fluids is desirable but not essential and other backgrounds will be considered including surfactants, coatings, personal care and home care.

Working Hours: 7:30am-4:00pm, Monday - Thursday. 7:30am-3:30pm Friday.

Role / Description

  • Support in the formulation and development of both new and existing products
  • Prepare technical reports, documentation and procurement records for new products
  • Support Quality Control (QC) with sample issues and batch monitoring
  • Support other departments as necessary, including production support

Requirements

  • Degree in Chemistry (or similar)
  • Proven industrial experience of developing and formulating products
    • Lubricants and metalworking fluids desirable, but other backgrounds will be considered including coatings, surfactants, personal care and homecare
  • Strong ability to work as part of a team
