Senior Formulation Chemist
North Manchester
Salary - 40,000 - 50,000 (depending on experience)

SRG is working with a leading manufacturer of industrial adhesives. Based in the North Manchester area, they have recently started hiring for a new member of their R&D team. This opportunity would suit someone with a strong industrial chemicals background with strong formulation skills and the ability to work independently. Role Description

  • Formulating and developing new coating and adhesive products in an R&D laboratory
  • Analysing and interpreting data from formulation experiments to help make judgements relating to new product development
  • Liaising both internally and externally with quality and manufacturing teams to ensure successful scale up of formulations
  • Working closely with raw materials suppliers to develop new products
  • Adhering closely to health and safety regulations whilst working in the laboratory
  • Supporting quality teams to investigate potential issues and provide improvements


Requirements

  • Degree in Chemistry with a focus on industrial or polymer science
  • Significant recent experience in and R&D role in a relevant industry (polymers, coatings, adhesives)
  • Experience formulating silicone products would be a distinct advantage
  • Ability to travel or relocate to the North Manchester area
  • A strong understanding of analytical and physical testing techniques
  • Full right to work in the UK.
