The Client
Our client are an energy consultancy company with a difference. They recognise that the cost of fossil fuels has become too great, not simply in terms of price to individual customers but in their impact on the planet. They work within the energy industry offering the very latest in renewable options from LED lighting, solar panels, EV chargers as well as other specific forms of energy reduction technology.
While our customers share the UK government’s commitment to achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, many of them are unsure how this can be achieved. At the same time, the constantly rising prices of gas and electricity mean both business and domestic users have an increasingly urgent need to reduce their financial burden.
The Role of Business Development Manager – Renewables
We are seeking a results-driven and strategic Business Development Manager to lead further growth of the company's commercial solar project portfolio. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing relationships with key stakeholders, and driving the sales and deployment of solar photovoltaic (PV) solutions to commercial clients. This role requires a deep understanding of the renewable energy market, excellent communication skills, and a passion for promoting sustainable energy practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the commercial solar PV sector, targeting businesses, municipalities, and institutions.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, project developers, contractors, and industry partners.
- Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and competitive analysis to inform business strategies.
- Lead negotiations and close deals to achieve or exceed sales targets and revenue goals.
- Monitor and report on the progress of business development initiatives, providing regular updates to senior management.
- Attend industry events, conferences, and networking functions to promote Path Energy and expand the company's presence in the market.
- Stay informed about regulatory changes, incentive programs, and financing options in the renewable energy sector.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in business development or sales, preferably within the renewable energy or solar industry - B2B
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and developing new business relationships.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with a results-oriented mindset.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Willingness to travel for client meetings and industry events as required.
