Our client is one of the UK’s fasting growing broker networks. They have achieved this growth through an unwavering focus on helping their network partners grow. This has built a terrific reputation, and a referral network which has super charged their growth.

They are now looking recruit a Business Development Manager to focus on the North of the country, to service and develop the significant pipeline of opportunities which the network has at its disposal, and further build their reputation for outstanding support for both existing entrepreneurial and start up brokers.

Job Purpose:

Working alongside the Business Development Director, you will focus on the growth of the network through proactively identifying and securing new broker partners and working alongside existing partners to help them achieve their goals.

This is a key position that involves cultivating relationships, understanding market dynamics, and providing compelling value propositions to attract new partners and to support existing partner growth.

Assisting in the conversion of new business, service of existing accounts and retention of renewals.

Supporting the other team members as required.

Providing advice and assistance as necessary.

Responsibilities:

  • Proactively manage existing prospect database and identify opportunities from within and prioritise accordingly.
  • Support marketing team with incoming enquiries and filter and prioritise appropriately.
  • Relationship building: develop and nurture long-term relationships with brokers, clearly communicating the unique benefits of partnering with the network.
  • Understanding the broker market and competitor landscape across key areas across the North.
  • Collaboration: work closely with internal teams such as marketing, broking, and operations to develop bespoke solutions for potential partners.
  • Reporting and strategy development: provide regular progress reports to senior management and contribute to the broader business development strategy.

Key Skills / Experience Required:

  • Proven experience in business development, ideally with a broker network, insurance carrier or third party provider to the insurance broking community.
  • Strong network within the broker community.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strategic thinker with a results-driven work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
