Business Development Manager - Commercial Solar PV

Locations Considered: Manchester, Leeds, London (Hybrid)

£70K - £90K & Bonus & EV Vehicle

The Client

Our client is a market leading provider of commercial Solar PV infrastructure is on the market to add a proven BDM to their team. As a Senior Commercial Business Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving growth by securing large-scale C&I solar projects. You will identify opportunities, lead tender processes, and build strong relationships with large organisations. Your ability to blend technical understanding, commercial acumen, and commercial solar expertise will be critical in this role.

The Role & Duties

  • Develop and implement strategies to identify and secure large-scale solar projects.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in large organisations.
  • Lead the preparation and submission of high-quality tender documents, ensuring compliance with client requirements and deadlines.
  • Negotiate contracts, manage the sales cycle, and ensure deals are closed effectively.
  • Collaborate with technical and project delivery teams to align proposals with client needs.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, market dynamics, and government policies impacting renewable energy.

Requirements

  • Proven track record in selling large-scale C&I solar projects.
  • Strong experience in tender writing and submission processes.
  • Experience in managing & developing relationships with introducing partners.
  • Demonstrated success in selling to large organisations, including negotiating and closing high-value contracts.
  • Good knowledge of funding options including PPA contracts.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to build credibility and trust with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Knowledge of renewable energy policies, incentives, and market trends.
