Business Development Manager - UK Haulage and Warehouse Services - Manchester

Salary up to £50K Base (Inclusive of Car Allowance) OTE 70K

Our Client is a leading logistics group operating within the UK haulage and warehouse sector.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Identify new prospects and opportunities for warehousing, freight, co-pack, VAS (value added service) business growth
  • Build a strong new business pipeline of opportunity with regular face to face meetings
  • Secure additional business
  • Ensure added value where possible
  • Maintain a sound understanding of all services, procedures and standards
  • Develop a comprehensive database of prospects on the CRM
  • Prepare detailed presentations and quotes, preparing monthly reports to the board
  • Meet individual targets set and provide support to meet annual group targets
  • Attend networking events and exhibitions

Your knowledge and experience:

  • Experience of project management
  • SWOT analysis
  • Knowledge of sales forecasts and tracking industry trends
  • Relevant industry experience to enable prospecting new business (minimum 5 years preferred)
  • Experience of devising strategic plans to expand sales

Personal abilities/skills

  • Tenacity and drive to seek new business and meet or exceed targets
  • The ability to multitask and prioritise your workload
  • The ability to motivate yourself and set your own goals
