This opportunity is open to either people who have worked in the lab with chromatography experience (GC, LC etc) who are looking to take a step out of the lab into a sales position or a fully- fledged BDM who has experience in the chromatography marketplace. You must be happy to travel on the road 2-3 times a week with the rest of the working week from home. Travel will be in the region of Newcastle to just below the Manchester area. The BDM will be responsible for driving the growth of chromatography product and service offerings. This role focuses on identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic relationships, and increasing revenue.Responsibilities• Develop and execute strategic plans to drive sales and business growth within the chromatography sector.• Identify, target, and acquire new customers.• Manage and expand relationships with existing customers, key decision makers and influences to increase sales and customer retention.• Collaborate with cross-functional teams • Generate new leads through networking, industry events, cold calling, and digital channels.• Re-engage with dormant accounts.• Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for business expansion.• Conduct market research to identify emerging opportunities and provide actionable insights for the business.• Identify opportunities early in the sales cycle. • Deliver business development related presentations.• Represent companies at industry meetings to promote company and services.• Follow up in a timely manner on quotations. • Qualifying, relationship building, needs evaluation, solution development/presentation and closing• Actively utilize CRM to record activities, ensuring contact details are accurate, duplicates are removed, new information is added, and accurate call / visit logs are entered.The Person• Previous experience of Chromatography in a laboratory setting with aptitude to work in a sales roles or previous technical experience of selling chromatography products/services.• Must be living in the North of England area.• Happy to travel around the North of England 2-3 times a week.• Be flexible to represent the company at exhibitions and events.• Ability to remain calm when faced with pressure and deadlines. • Excellent with Microsoft Applications. • Ability to communicate effectively- written and verbal.• Excellent interpersonal skills.• UK Driving licence.
