Position Summary

The Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) will be a strategic leader responsible for the development, execution, and management of the company’s comprehensive marketing strategy. The CMO will drive brand growth, elevate market positioning, and enhance customer engagement, aligning marketing activities with business objectives. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in digital and traditional marketing, an in-depth understanding of the software and technology landscape, and experience scaling brands in competitive markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership
    • Develop and implement a holistic marketing strategy that aligns with the company’s vision, values, and growth objectives.
    • Lead, mentor, and expand a high-performing marketing team across various functions, including digital marketing, brand, product marketing, PR, content, and analytics.
    • Drive brand positioning, messaging, and strategy across all customer touchpoints to enhance awareness, engagement, and loyalty.
  • Market Analysis & Insights
    • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to understand industry trends, emerging technologies, and customer needs.
    • Translate insights into actionable strategies that drive demand, revenue growth, and market differentiation.
    • Analyze customer data and feedback to inform product marketing strategies and refine buyer personas.
  • Growth & Revenue Marketing
    • Develop and oversee multi-channel demand generation campaigns to drive customer acquisition, retention, and upsell opportunities.
    • Collaborate with sales, product, and customer success teams to create integrated strategies that drive customer growth and revenue.
    • Set measurable goals and KPIs, continually tracking performance to optimize campaigns and achieve ROI.
  • Digital Marketing & Brand Presence
    • Own digital marketing strategies, including SEO, SEM, social media, email marketing, and content marketing, to maximize online presence and engagement.
    • Oversee the creation of compelling content and communications that highlight the brand’s value proposition, industry expertise, and thought leadership.
    • Lead brand development initiatives to ensure consistent messaging and identity across all platforms.
  • Product Marketing
    • Partner with product teams to craft and execute product launch strategies that communicate value and drive adoption.
    • Design and implement go-to-market plans that highlight product differentiators, address market pain points, and align with target audiences.
    • Drive product positioning, pricing, and promotion strategies that fuel product-market fit and growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of marketing experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within the software or technology industry.
  • Proven track record in strategic planning, digital marketing, brand building, and demand generation.
  • Strong leadership skills with a focus on team development, collaboration, and growth.
  • Deep understanding of marketing analytics, data-driven decision-making, and KPI measurement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience collaborating cross-functionally.
  • Familiarity with marketing automation tools (e.g., HubSpot, Marketo), CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), and analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics).
