Position: Engineering Manager - Pricing & Channel Management

We’re entering an exciting new phase of our tech and product strategy, with a focus on innovation, experimentation, and conversion at the heart of everything we do. Our mission is to elevate the web and mobile experience for our guests and owners, driving seamless journeys across all our group companies.

To achieve our goals, we’re looking to make some key hires—are you ready to be part of the transformation and help shape the future of the travel industry?

? About the role:

We've replaced outdated legacy systems with three new, data-rich solutions: Pricing Engine, Price Management, and First Time Pricing.

As Tech Lead for our Pricing team, you’ll head up the full stack team behind our Pricing Management platform. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, you’ll work in a fast-paced, delivery-focused culture where small, autonomous teams own what they build—including DevOps and reliability.

You’ll drive engineering best practices, shape innovative pricing products, and create seamless booking experiences for our guests and owners. Expect to experiment, collaborate, and mentor the next generation of engineers.

? Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership and act as the technical authority for the Pricing Management platform
  • Lead a cross-functional, full stack team building innovative pricing solutions
  • Champion engineering best practices such as CI/CD, TDD, and cloud-native architectures
  • Support a learning culture through mentoring grads, juniors, and mid-level engineers
  • Collaborate with engineers across our international tech teams
  • Operate what you build—reliability and DevOps is everyone’s job
  • Actively contribute to the wider Awaze tech community

? What we’re looking for:

We're looking for a hands-on Tech Lead who’s passionate about coding and equally passionate about inspiring those around them. You should be someone who thrives on solving complex problems and knows that the right solution should drive the tech—not the other way around.

We don’t expect you to tick every box, but experience in a mixture of the following is great:

  • Strong programming background, any language welcome, with a willingness to learn our stack
  • Experience in Go is a bonus, as is Svelte and TypeScript
  • Developing and deploying production services in AWS
  • Building CI/CD pipelines (GoCD, Jenkins, Bamboo, etc.)
  • Integrating enterprise applications and services
  • Using Infra-as-Code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation
  • Comfortable with pairing, mob programming, TDD/BDD

More than technical skills, we’re looking for curiosity, collaboration and the hunger to keep growing.

? What will we offer you?

Not only will you be joining a brand new team, you’ll help shape the way we work and influence the culture of our brand-new Manchester City Centre tech hub. You’ll also receive:

  • Annual Bonus Scheme
  • 25 days holidays plus bank holidays
  • Holiday Discounts
  • Pension contribution scheme
  • Private healthcare
