Export Business Development Manager Home Office Based - Lubricant Manufacturing

A long-established, privately owned manufacturer of high-performance, often bespoke lubricants and greases, supplying a wide range of industries worldwide.

This strategic role is key to driving global export growth. The Export Business Development Manager (BDM) will be responsible for identifying and securing new international business while expanding and managing existing accounts. The role is 75% business development, 25% account management, requiring long haul global travel and a strong cultural awareness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and develop new international markets, analysing trends and competition.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
  • Lead negotiations and manage contracts, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to drive business growth.
  • Stay informed on market trends, export regulations, and competitor activity.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Logistics, and Sales to ensure smooth delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide regular sales reports and performance insights.
Candidate Profile
  • Proven sales/business development experience in the lubricants export market or a related industry (training provided).
  • A proactive, door-opening approach to building business relationships.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of international trade regulations, export documentation, and supply chain logistics.
  • Experience in the APAC market beneficial.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and travel internationally.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and business tools (SAP preferred).
  • Multilingual skills are an advantage but not essential.

  • Salary: £50k£60k DOE
