Work Location: Remote, National Coverage. HQ in Glasgow area – once a month visit.

Salary: £55,000 to £60,000 DOE + Bonus Package + Company Car

We are excited to announce an opening for the position of National Sales Manager for a leading specialist in manufacturing catering equipment for the education and hospitality sector.

Job Summary:

As the National Sales Manager, you will be responsible for crafting and executing a robust sales strategy aimed at driving profitable growth across the UK & Ireland. This role involves engaging with End Users, Distributors, and Contractors to expand market presence. You will manage and nurture existing National Accounts while supporting your successful BDM team with actively seeking new business opportunities.

Success in this role requires seamless collaboration with various departments to meet strategic objectives, meticulous planning, goal setting, and precise sales forecasting.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Motivate and mentor Business Development Managers (BDMs) to ensure the delivery of the sales plan.
  • Spend time with each BDM on the road every other month.
  • Coordinate budget progression and KPI updates using CRM and dashboards.
  • Attend and provide monthly board meeting reports.
  • Develop and implement sales strategy and procedures.
  • Manage existing National Accounts.
  • Proactively identify, develop, and generate new National Account business opportunities.
  • Hold regular sales meetings and business review meetings to assess sales and market opportunities and identify and develop target accounts.
  • Work with BDMs to negotiate and close deals with main accounts.
  • Maintain key working relationships with the Commercial and Works Directors.
  • Work closely with key distributors and trade associations.
  • Attend key exhibitions, conferences, and catering events.
  • Oversee marketing activities, including literature, publications, advertising, and PR.

Work Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of industry experience.
  • Proven track record as a National Sales Manager, managing a team and dealing with national accounts.
  • Experience in managing an external sales team.
  • Solid understanding of reading drawings and carrying out site surveys.
  • Ability to understand and analyse sales performance metrics.
  • Strong customer service attitude with excellent negotiation skills.
  • Strong communication and team management skills.
  • Analytical skills with a problem-solving attitude.
  • Availability to travel as required.
  • Familiarity with industry exhibitions and marketing requirements.
